About Productivity News

Built by someone who lost years to the wrong productivity advice.

This site exists because I got tired of tips that looked great on paper and collapsed on Monday morning. Everything here is tested, honest, and written for people who actually need to get things done.

I've spent over a decade working in tech and software — building systems, managing projects, and watching smart people (including myself) waste enormous amounts of time on work that didn't matter.

Productivity News is the resource I wished I'd had when I was trying to figure out how to work smarter without burning out.

I tried every system. Most of them failed me.

For years, I was the person with color-coded calendars, three different task apps running simultaneously, and a reading list of productivity books I never had time to finish. I optimized everything — and still felt behind.

"The problem wasn't discipline. The problem was that most productivity advice is written for a fantasy version of you, not the actual human sitting at a desk at 3pm on a Tuesday."

What changed things for me wasn't another framework. It was stepping back and asking which habits actually moved the needle — and which ones I was doing because a blog post told me to. That question became the foundation of this site.

With my background in software and IT, I've always been drawn to systems thinking: understanding why something works, not just that it works. I apply that same lens to productivity — cutting through the noise to find what's real.

Practical. Evidence-based. No fluff.

Productivity News covers focus techniques, time management, AI tools, and workplace performance — but always with one question in mind: will this actually help someone on a regular Tuesday?

Tested, not just shared

Every method we write about is one we've examined critically — not just passed along because it sounds good.

Written for real work

No idealized routines. Content built for people with actual jobs, deadlines, and distractions.

Honest about AI

We use AI tools in our research process — and we tell you exactly how, and where human judgment takes over.

How this site works

Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose. So here's exactly how Productivity News operates:

  • Editorial independence: No brand, tool, or sponsor influences what I write or recommend. Opinions are my own.
  • AI assistance, human judgment: I use AI tools to support research and drafting. Every article is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by me personally before it goes live.
  • Affiliate links: Some articles contain affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. I only link to tools I'd genuinely recommend.
  • No sponsored rankings: Lists and comparisons reflect my honest assessment, not who paid to be included.
  • Corrections welcome: If something I've written is wrong or outdated, I want to know. Reach out and I'll fix it publicly.
